A case report of reverse same-fingered island flap

Introduction: Traumatic fingertip injuries are common among the young, working-age population. Several surgical techniques are used for their treatment, but the reverse flow same-fingered island flap stands out.
Objective: To report a case treated with a reverse flow same-fingered island flap.
Case report: We report the case of a 19-year-old male manual worker who suffered an injury to the tip of the fourth finger of his right hand. Since the Atasoy flap failed, a reverse same-fingered island flap was used. Postoperative results, according to the Fingertip Injuries Outcome Assessment Score (FIOS), were optimal.
Conclusions: The satisfactory results of the retrograde same-fingered island flap make it a favorable option for treating fingertip injuries.
