Total knee replacement associated with gonarthrosis

Introducción: La luxación congénita de rótula constituye una condición rara que, por lo general, ocurre asociada a otros síndromes. Se caracteriza por una fijación marcada de la rótula en el borde lateral del cóndilo femoral y se reduce con cirugía. Esta patología, vinculada a osteoartrosis, resulta poco frecuente y su manejo es controversial.
Objetivo: Comentar la aplicación del reemplazo total de rodilla a un caso con diagnóstico de luxación congénita de rótula bilateral en una clínica de Cali, Colombia.
Presentación del caso: La paciente de 42 años presentó un cuadro clínico de dolor de rodillas sin antecedentes de trauma. Se evidenció luxación bilateral de rótulas, asociado a cambios osteoartrósicos y se decidió efectuar el reemplazo total rodilla.
Conclusiones: El reemplazo total de rodilla se considera un procedimiento válido para obtener buenos resultados. Un adecuado planeamiento preoperatorio contribuye a minimizar riesgos y complicaciones.
